@Lola: I'd like to have more details on this story. I'm sure they'll become available. In itself, trespassing at Quabbin doesn't strike me as a big deal; I've done it myself. It's a great fishing spot as well as being historically funky -- several towns and lots of farms were simply flooded when the reservoir was filled. Remnants can still be seen of them. Quabbin also has lots of restrictions on how it can be used recreationally. See: http://www.mass.gov/dcr/watersupply/watershed/quabfish.htm

Now, I do understand the concern that something evil might have been in play, but mere trespass doesn't get me all excited.

http://boston.cbslocal.com/2013/05/14/7-cited-for-trespassing-at-quabbin-reservoir-patrols-stepped-up-across-state/

BELCHERTOWN (CBS) – Shortly after midnight Tuesday, seven people were caught trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir.

State Police say the five men and two women are from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, and “cited their education and career interests” for being in the area. The men told police they were chemical engineers and recent college graduates.

The Quabbin, in Belchertown, is one of the country’s largest man-made public water supplies. Boston’s drinking water comes from the Quabbin and the Wachusett Reservoirs.

Well it could be interesting if Hemp starts coming back. It is a renewable biofuel that Ford used to power his Hemp made car. The plastic was 10x's stronger than fiberglass.

Colorado just got the okay to plant the first crop on the mainland. Could be an interesting turn of events for paper products, plastics, oil, food, clothing, buildings, etc. The bonus is it is resistant to bugs so pesticides are not needed.

It is time to drastically supplement our fuel with less environmentally impacting techniques such as fracking.

With the rise of China any extra production will help Saudi Arabia, it will put a bit of downward pressure on prices. It may give Saudi Arabia a bit more time to move their economy from an almost total dependence on oil.
