There’re too many competing demands on my time at present to keep up daily posting. That, I fear, will be the state until I’m back in Florida next week.
I’m reading your comments and will be replying as frequently as I can, but social and family obligations are taking priority at the moment. Please do keep commenting and don’t hesitate to raise new issues. Consider the comment section for this post to be an ‘Open House’!
Thanks for your patience.

Don’t worry, you’ll be getting your food for thought from the Open House!

John—Happy New Year and enjoy your time with your family and loved as the new year unfolds.
January:01:2010 - 02:25
And no need to be sorry for this! It’s perfectly natural around this time of the year.
January:01:2010 - 06:25
A happy New Year to all of you !
January:01:2010 - 07:40
Daisy I am happy you are here. I feel that with having someone like you around I can take a break
Happy New Year Everyone!
The Meaning of Minarets is going to have to turn into a novel of some sorts…
January:01:2010 - 10:16
Happy New Year to all!
January:01:2010 - 12:03
Sparky,
Happy New Year to all!
Thanks for that. Remember, you have an “Argumentative Indian” on board now! This is just the beginning, see where you go from here.

John,
Modifying Sparky’s suggestion, you can make the Meaning of Minarets into a TV Comedy serial – punctuated by contribution of humour from your side as well.
In fact, I have looked at many blog posts related to the minarets votes issue. Your post is way ahead of others in terms of number of comments and quality of discussion. How about celebrating this with the commentators on that post in the New Year?

John, I hope all is well with you and I wish you and yours a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. Or, at the very least, a better year in 2010 than in 2009.
January:01:2010 - 15:22
Happy New Year to John and everyone! Enjoy your family time!

OPEN HOUSE:
My rented driver picked me up today from work and I opened a container of raw vegetables to munch on. He picked his nose and flicked the booger to the passenger side. LOL I was thinking that booger may have made into my container. That is real gross. I was speechless. I mean should I say HEY Watch your boogers!
Thank GOD I was sitting in the back seat!

Sparky,
Yes, in India you would tell him to mend his behaviour, since you were paying him. I don’t know abou Saudi courtesies to a paid driver.
January:04:2010 - 09:02
Thanks Daisy,
I will. I just thought it would be awkward being alone with him in the car and asking an adult not to fling his boogers around me. I thought maybe he forgot I was there. I will give him another chance but after that if it happens again I will ask him to mend his ways.
