The conflict on the Saudi-Yemen border seems to be finished. Saudi Gazette runs a release from the Saudi Press Agency, quoting King Abdullah’s remark that the Kingdom is strong enough to repel aggressors.
Kingdom strong enough to deter aggressors: King
RIYADH – King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, said Sunday that the Kingdom, with Allah’s help, is strong and able to deter any aggressors. The King’s statement came during his reception of Kuwaiti First Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense Sheikh Jabir Bin Mubarak Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who pledged full support of his government and nation to the Kingdom. – SPA

Arab News cautions others that the Kingdom takes such aggression seriously and that the ‘infiltrators’ will be facing capital punishment. It also reports that civilians have not yet been returned to the area. It’s not clear whether that is because danger still exists. This piece notes the support of the GCC for Saudi Arabia’s actions and cautions that rumors have it that the Houthis are planning to use women and children as suicide bombers.
Infiltrators to face death
Muhammad Humaidan I Arab NewsJAZAN: Saudi armed forces will not enter Yemen, Prince Khaled bin Sultan, assistant minister of defense and aviation for military affairs, announced on Sunday. Giving Houthi rebels a stern warning, he said they would face death if they tried again to infiltrate into the Kingdom.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting armed forces along the Kingdom’s border with Yemen, Prince Khaled said soldiers would support the border guards in confronting the intruders.
He said civilians have been evacuated from areas surrounding the Khoba border post in order to facilitate the operation against the rebels. “Those who enter the area extending from the border for more than 10 km will be in a killing zone. In another words they have to either surrender or face destruction,” he explained.
