Many media outlets are carrying this Agence France Presse piece about a cyber attack on Saudi-funded satellite TV channel Al-Arabiya. Allegations are that it was attacked by Shi’ites in retaliation for earlier alleged attacks on Iranian sites by Sunnis. We don’t really need an escalation of sectarianism.

Saudi-owned TV website hit by cyber attack

Computer hackers claiming to be Shiite shut down the website of Saudi-owned satellite channel Al-Arabiya on Friday, a month after Iran reported similar attacks on many of its websites by hardline Sunnis.

The website of the Dubai-based channel was taken over by the hackers who displayed a message which warned that “if attacks on Shiite websites continue, none of your websites will be safe”.

The page also displayed a picture of an Israeli flag on fire.

Al-Arabiya issued a statement saying that its website had “come under organised cyber piracy performed by extremists”.

“if attacks on Shiite websites continue, none of your websites will be safe”.”

honestly, i havent laughed that hard in a long time. They are starting to sound like two little 5 year-olds arguing over who touched who.

It is bad because both sides look bad because of what some childish people on both side thought. And it definately makes islam seem bad and childish as well. ten or at most 20 people have done something now is going to be seen and associated with millions of other people who i am betting alot of them, thought that it was stupid and childish to do.
