I don’t know why this information is being made public, four years after the fact, but Arab News reports that the Saudi government has publicly identified two terrorists killed in gun battles with police. Perhaps the government was hoping to use the information to further its own war against terrorism. In any event, there are two more data points for those tracking Al-Qaeda losses.

JEDDAH: The Interior Ministry yesterday identified the two suspected Al-Qaeda terrorists who were killed in gunbattles with security forces four years ago as Saud Muhammad Abdul Aziz Al-Saadan and Mishaal bin Daleem Al-Wasidi Al-Harbi.

Al-Saadan and 14 others were killed during an operation against Al-Qaeda militants in Al-Rass in Qassim province three years ago, a spokesman at the ministry said, adding that he had taken part in many terrorist attacks inside the Kingdom.
