Saudi Gazette reports that the Saudi court system will not shut down entirely during the two-week-long Eid Al-Fitr holidays at the end of Ramadan. All major cities, including provincial capitals, will have courts open to deal with criminal and urgent matters.
RIYADH – Dr. Abdullah Al Aal-Sheikh, Minister of Justice, has said 40 Summary and District Courts will function during Eid Al-Fitr holidays. The courts will look into urgent cases. They will also decide on charges leveled against arrested criminals, Al-Watan Arabic daily said.
The Ministry has assigned two judges for three courts in Riyadh and Jeddah and Makkah and one judge for each court in Kharj, Aflaj, Hotat Beni Tameem, Wadi Al-Dwasir, Zulfi, Shaqra, Majmmah, Dwadmi, Afif, Al-Qwaiqayia, Buraidah, Unaiza, Rass, Zulfi, Madina, Yanbu, Taif, Dammam, Ahsa, Hafr Al-Batin, Arar, Rafha, Tabuk, Diba, Jouf, Al-Quryat, Baha, Qunfudha, Abha, Bisha, Khamis Mushayt, Tathleeth, Balqrn, Mahail Asi, Jizan and Najran.
