Saudi Gazette reports that the Saudi government will be broadcasting the eighth installation of a series intended to alert its citizens of how Al-Qaeda recruits young men. Saudi Channel 1, unfortunately, does not have the audience it once had, being overtaken by the more entertaining satellite channels. Those who do watch this channel, though, do tend to lean toward interest in their own country and the government’s point of view.
Eighth episode in ‘Our worries’ series airs
RIYADH – The eighth episode of the talk show ‘Our Worries’ will be broadcast tonight, on Saudi TV Channel 1, revealing how “deviant groups” exploit the sympathy and enthusiasm of young people in order to further the group’s interest and conflicts in different regions, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The episode titled ‘The Trap’ will feature several young people speaking about their experiences and will reveal new facts for the first time about how they were recruited.
‘Our Worries’ is a series produced by the Ministry of Interior aimed at curtailing the recruitment of young people into groups promoting violence and extremism.
The previous four episodes dealt with how “deviant groups” used the Internet to mislead young people into joining their groups.– SPA
