The Energy Information Administration, part of the US Department of Energy, has provided a detailed look at Saudi Arabia and its energy supply, production, and use. It’s all you want to know—and perhaps more—on the subject. Of note is that Saudi Arabia is the 15th largest user of ‘primary energy resources’ in the world. Sixty per cent of that energy comes from petroleum.

Somewhat surprisingly, the report does not address Saudi interest in nuclear power generation nor Saudi imports of coal. It does mention, however, the goal of a GCC-wide power grid.
