A novel set in the city in which I live, relating a story of some of the Saudi 9/11 terrorists. How could I not read and review it?

You can read my review of The Garden of Last Days, by Andre Dubus III, through this link.

My short take: Okay for summer reading. Not so great if you’re looking for something to shed light on what was going through the minds of the attackers. The main characters are a pastiche Saudi, Bassam, largely but not exclusively based on the Al-Shehri brothers from Khamis Mushayt; Spring, a young, single mother, self-employed as a dancer in a strip club; and Lonnie, a local redneck loser with serious anger management issues. The novel is essentially about self-loathing and the way in which little mistakes of judgment have a way of cascading out of control.

It appears the link to your review is broken. Could be my browser (Firefox 2.0.0.15). The review is reachable through the “Pages” link list, but you might want to check the post.

Some of the highjackers spent time with prostitutes prior to 911. Gosh darn it…”What the F_ _k?” Sorry that is my only expression!

I want to be a weenie executioner!

The mentality is do haram and then perform an ulitmate righeous act aka. KIllING YOURSELF AND OTHER PEOPLE and you will be in Jannah Paradise with a bunch of concubines.

The above is the perfect definition of Islamic Extremism.! How enticing for a bunch of weenies because that is all it appeals to is the lower animal instincts.

I have changed my mind and no longer want to be a weenie executioner. I realize that is an unhealthy point of view.

Besides, your work would never be done! You’re vastly outnumbered by dim bulbs.
