In a rather uninformative piece (where’s the name of Salem’s film?), Saudi Gazette reports that Saudi director Mamdoh Salem will be representing Saudi Arabia at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Colorado.

By Ali FaqandashDubai – Mamdoh Salem, a young Saudi director, is preparing to represent the Kingdom in the next Sundance Film Festival in the USA.
This opportunity came about after an invitation was extended to Salem from Director Radi Taylor, representative of a Sundance project that provides funding young directors and documentary movies that focus on human rights’ issues.
Salem credits the Al-Arabiya Channel for this chance oportunity in his career as Arabiya had arranged a documentary cinema contest for young documentary directors, where Salem had won an award.
… Salem commented that his movie reflects the great teachings of Islam, in terms of human and women rights, through dealing with several issues in the Saudi society.
