International media—as well as the Saudi media—are picking up this story about a Syrian man, involved in a family dispute, who killed his nephew to get back at his sister and her husband. It’s a grotesque story that will titillate, for sure.

He killed the baby because of a dispute with the kid’s parents? Insanity! How could someone kill a child he had played with?

God willing, this man will be put to death and rot in hell. An executioner’s sword is too good for this scum. He should be tied up and flayed from head to toe and left to bleed to death.

Sickening. Even if the sister’s faults were real, the murderer had no mercy for her and the thought of whether or not he was doing right by his nephew never was a consideration. Absolute justice equals absolute evil.

    AbuSinan I agree.

The man should be tortured for a long time before being to death.

I would stand in line to be the torturer!

Imagine the people who witnessed it as well…

Wallahi this is the worst thing I have ever heard of in all my life…

While there are horrific stories, this tops it. I wish I had never read about it or heard about it because it will change me forever.

An uncle who took his nephew to buy toys decapitates him in a public grocery store in front of his mother. Oh my…

It is appalling but I am wondering how this outrage compares with that of another teenager decapitated by the state no less in what appears a bizarre travesty of a trial. By all means let’s get the uncle, but let’s not leave out equally monstrous killers hiding behind the state.

But did they arrest this barbaric criminal? It doesn’t say in either story whether he was arrested or is still on the loose.

This story is unbelievably disturbing. I can’t imagine this man thinking his actions were justifiable. What is wrong with people any more?

Early reports say that the man was mentally deranged. He loved his nephew a lot, and was devastated when he learned that because of a dispute between his sister and her ex-husband over paternity he won’t be seeing him again. So something snapped inside his head.

Disregarding the grisly nature of the crime itself for a moment, it will be interesting to see up close how the Saudi courts will deal with the eventual plea of insanity.

M there is a fine line between insanity and satanism…

He was the latter and someone that crazy or insane should be first tortured (Might bring his sanity back) and then mercilessly put down!

    Personal opinion

Of course anybody who does such an outrage is mentally deranged. There is no other possibillity. Which ever way you look at it.
And I’d go in this case for getting him ”humanely” out of the way.

Aafke…thank you for you comments and I want to explain myself:

I don’t want to be misunderstood that I advocate torture…

In this extreme case, a public execution of an innocent child in front of his mother… I would say yes…torture would be a healthy thing for the murderer.

I don’t believe people should get off the hook for insanity…although I do believe a state of insanity does exist and it indeed is scary. However, I still believe there is an element within all of us that can resist those insane moments or overcome them somehow. It is our duty to seek and do so…either through religion, sound friends, books, medicine whatever…

    Psychologist, Shirley Spitz observes

“But when we explore the interior state of physical pain we find that there is no object “out there”—no external, referential content. And it draws us away from the space of interaction, the sharable world, inwards. It draws us into the boundaries of our body.”

Maybe this pain would make the insane man sane and fit for execution. Torture can make a person insane, so I am hypothesizing that torture on an already sane person might make them a sane person. Just ideas…You know theat expression you must have lost your mind…or the slap that brings us back to ourselves when we are overcharged emotionally.

    Aafke,

Attributing everything to insanity lets too many people off the hook. This man cut his nephews head off in public, Hitler murdered millions. Saddam murder and gassed his own people. Just because you cannot understand the motivations of why people do things or agree with them doesnt make them insane.

I believe there is evil in this world, and this man is amoung their ranks. Hitler, Hussein, not insane, just evil.

Ho, ho, friends, I didn’t mean insanity as a way out, I mean that anybody who does such a thing is só utterly mentally deranged that I don’t care what reason somebody wants to put behind it: Such people cannot be part of the society. And in this horrendous case let’s get completely rid of him alltogether.
    As soon as possible.
Saddam was insane, and Hitler and his henchmen were really insane. I’m all for getting rid of insane people.

    (except me, myself)
