Angus Reid Poll: Israel, Saudi Arabia Seen as Friendly

The Canadian polling firm, Angus Reid conducted a poll on American attitudes toward Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iran. and Syria. Not surprisingly, Israel was seen as an Ally or Friendly nation by a total 81% of the audience. Saudi Arabia gathered a score of 58%, somewhat more surprisingly.

Following 9/11, American attitudes toward the KSA plummeted, dropping from an approval rating of around 80% to less than 25%. That seems to be reversing at present.

As could be expected, both Iran (77% rating it as Unfriendly or Enemy) and Syria (57% Unfriendly/Enemy) were seen quite darkly.

The link above goes to Angus Reid’s webpage giving the tabular results of this single question, asked in a telephone interview with 1,019 Americans.

For your average american who doesn’t pay much attention to the news, this is what changed their mind

blah, blah, blah, Al Queda hurt, blah blah, organization mostly demolished, blah blah Saudi Arabia.

Kill, imprison, or convert your own Islamists to more peaceful ways (and do it effectively) and your country will rise in America’s estimation. It really is that simple. Run telethons to fundraise for them and your stock with the american public will sink.
