Peretz supports Saudi peace plan

“The stability of [the current government] is in the national interest of Israel,” Defense Minister Amir Peretz said Sunday evening.

Speaking at the Globes Israel Conference for Business, Peretz also expressed support for the Saudi Initiative.

“[The] Saudi peace initiative should be considered a possible base for a diplomatic process,” the defense minister said.

The Jerusalem Post carries a brief article about the Defense Minister’s support of the peace initiative offered by then-Crown Prince Abdullah in 2002, later ratified by the Arab League.

They are changing the foreign service test. Any opinions?

Also, are you a CIA operations officer?

    A little off topic.

I’ve only read the article in The Washington Post about the new proposal for the Foreign Service exam. It really didn’t have enough information for me to judge whether or not it’s a good move or a bad one.

The short and full answer is “no”. I’ve only been employed by the US Information Agency and US State Department as a Public Diplomacy officer. (State took over USIA in a ‘hostile takeover’ ordered by Congress in the late 1990s.)
