6-Foot-8 Little Leaguer Towers Over Foes

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Aaron Durley towers over the competition at the Little League World Series.

The 13-year-old first baseman for Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, stands an imposing 6-foot-8 and weighs 256 pounds.

The Washington Post runs this AP article about one of the players for the Dhahran team at the Little League World Series. It notes, too, that the team beat Saipan and has a 2-0 record so far.

The New York Times also has an article that talks more about the team, their families, and their lives in Saudi Arabia. Clearly, these expats are not assimilated into Saudi society, but then, they’re not immigrants, even if some of them may be third-generation “Aramcons”.
