My life: Saudi Arabian women speak

In the conservative Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, women often struggle to get their voices heard.

I’ve come across this piece belatedly, but commend it to you nevertheless. It’s a BBC web page that offers a variety of young Saudi women talking about what’s important in their lives. The page features a picture of the women with a pull-quote, which in turn links to a longer piece by each of them.

I think it does a good job of disabusing people from the idea that Saudi Arabia is a monolithic culture. It also deals well with the attitude that Saudi women are poor, benighted souls. Take a look at it.
